Objectives: To compile a comprehensive information system on fish larvae that is relevant in the field of fisheries research and finfish aquaculture. In close cooperation with the World Fish Center, Penang and the Fish- und LarvalBase Team in Los Banos, Philippines.

1997–1999 Objectives: Development of a Curriculum and Training Material on the Rearing of Fish Larvae ("FiLaMan"), for use in Training Courses in Developing Countries (. Responsibilities: Project management, data provider and data harmonization. "Development of curricula and training materials for rearing of fish larvae in developing countries" in Germany, Brazil, Greece and the Philippines Funded by EC, DG III, B7-6100 FOR/FRG4.

1995–1996 Objectives: Analyses of small scale patterns in distribution, productivity and dynamics of phyto-, microzoo- and macrozooplankton in the area of oceanic banks, islands and rocks off Northeast Brazil.
